Using connected insurance
How an operator shares a vessel and how an underwriter reads the risk score and the premium adjustment.
Connected insurance is the renewal screen. The operator chooses which vessels the insurer may see. The underwriter reads the risk score, the policies and the proposed premium adjustment for those ships only. Tom Achebe, the underwriter in the demo, has view on this module and on cameras, and none everywhere else. Maren Holt has publish. Kaan Erdem has edit, which is not enough to accept an adjustment or to share a ship.
Dashboard and pages
Insurance is http://localhost:4400/app/insurance . It shows how the proposed adjustments move the hull and machinery premium, the policies renewing over the next 12 months, the risk score and premium per vessel, the adjustment offered at renewal, and which vessels the insurer can see.
Claims is http://localhost:4400/app/claims . Each row is the claim, the vessel, the type, the incident date, the amount and the status. Integrations is http://localhost:4400/app/integrations/insurance .
Workflows
Accept and Decline need publish (premium.review). They record the decision on one proposed adjustment. The reviewer is pinned by the database. The call is marked as going out to the insurer portal. That portal is a mock, so nothing is sent.
Share with insurer needs publish (vessel.share). The button is on the vessel page, not on the insurance dashboard. The label is Share with insurer, and it switches to stop sharing when the ship is already shared. Sharing makes the vessel visible to underwriter accounts in the workspace.
Create a claim needs edit (claim.create). view is enough to read policies, scores and claims you are allowed to see. An agent cannot hold publish, so an agent cannot accept an adjustment or share a ship.
Shared records
The risk score is owned by predictive maintenance. This page shows it. It does not recompute it. HSEQ incidents can name a claim code. The claim page is not filtered to that claim. The shared flag is what the fleet map’s vessel table calls insurer sharing.
What the demo simulates
The insurer portal and the data room are mocks. Adjustments, premiums and the two claims in the story (one open machinery claim on Aldersea, one closed) are generated. No underwriter system is called.
Integrations
The insurer portal and the data-room connector are mocks. See Connections and the module reference.
