Run the demo
One command starts the app, the marketing site and these docs. No sign-in, no database, no outside calls.
You need Node.js 20.10 or newer and pnpm 10.
Install
pnpm installStart everything
pnpm demoThis starts three servers:
| What | URL |
|---|---|
| App (demo mode) | http://localhost:4400/app |
| Marketing site | http://localhost:4410 |
| Docs | http://localhost:4430 |
Open the app
Go to http://localhost:4400/app. There is no sign-in. You are Maren Holt, fleet manager and owner of the Aurora Marine workspace.
What demo mode does
- All data is generated on your machine: 18 vessels, 365 days of daily data, 14 days of hourly sensor data, alerts, work orders, reports, policies and claims.
- The app makes no outside requests. Buttons that would send something, such as Notify crew, show a notice and send nothing.
- A banner on every page says you are in the demo.
- Reset in Settings → Demo puts the data back to its starting state.
- Demo mode refuses to start in production. With
NODE_ENV=productionandDEMO_MODE=true, the app stops with an error unlessALLOW_DEMO_IN_PROD=1is set for a public demo with no real data.
Try the store
On the site, open Pricing, pick modules and continue to the demo checkout. The site signs the order and sends it to the app, which unlocks the modules in the demo workspace. No card is charged and no payment provider is called. See Pricing for how the signature works.
